Examples of services include: live events, online training, research computing systems (compute, viz, storage, and instruments), software and digital services, public research data, consulting and support services, and IT guides.
Component | User facing? | Component’s role in the capability |
---|---|---|
Information Services | no | Implements the aggregation service that contains research information technology information from multiple organizations. |
Information Services | no | XSEDE has local information technology catalogs in Information Services, for example for aggregating HPC software published by service providers using IPF. XSEDE runs applications (called routers) that publish from these local catalogs into the aggregation services both hosted in Information Services. |
Research Software Portal (RSP) | yes | Implements manual entry of software and service information that is published to the aggregation service. |
XSEDE Central Database (XCDB) | no | The XSEDE central database and other catalogs container local research resource information that needs to be published to the aggregation service. |
