The Roy J Carver Biotechnology Center (CBC)) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is an open access infrastructure of advanced instrumentation and trained researchers actively engaged in support of campus research in biomedical, agricultural, and environmental science. The CBC’s research portfolio consists of six facilities with their infrastructure and function organized around the needs of the research they support. The CBC facilities are DNA Services, Functional Genomics, HPCBio Bioinformatics, Protein Sciences, Metabolomics, and Flow Cytometry. Our service activities are supported by cost-recovery service fees. We are actively engaged in facilitating support to 250 University of Illinois faculty led research groups who use one or more of our facilities in a given year.
