In two field seasons (2008-2009), the ISGS and McHenry County collected 31 continuous lithologic cores to bedrock (17 wireline-mud rotary, 14 rotosonic), which included downhole geophysical logs at each location (gamma ray and electrical resistivity). The ISGS also collected approximately 90 km of 2D geophysical profiles (seismic (51 km) and electrical resistivity (39 km)). The geophysical datasets help geologists further decipher the character of glacial sediments below land surface. These field data have been the key datasets for regional and local geologic interpretation in the County.

What is this?
The 4CeeD uploader is a light weight web tool used to upload scientific data files and metadata descriptors to a local repository.
Why use this?
The 4CeeD uploader and curator replace outdated and inefficient methodologies used in many laboratories for data capture and storage.
How can the 4CeeD Uploader help me?
- Data gets stored to local cloud storage.
- Support for automating repetitive tasks.
- Use templates for reliable user defined meta data entry.
How can the 4CeeD Curator help me?
- All accessible data can be downloaded with its data-model hierarchy preserved.
- Extractors pull descriptive metadata out of files and instrument logs for analysis and discovery.
- Get reliable calibration data and how to reference it.
- Share your data and use powerful free-text and faceted search for comparisons.
- Broad set of customizable access control rules.

The CI-KNOW system mines the knowledge network associated with research communities' use of cyberinfrastructure tools, using provenance information and relational metadata from a metadata store through Tupelo 2 to create context-specific recommendations for CyberCollaboratory users. A network navigation portlet allows users to locate colleagues, documents, data or analytic tools in the knowledge network visually and to explore their networks. An internal auditing portal offers administrators diagnostics for assessing the growth and health of the entire knowledge network.

Our group's research focus is in computer architecture, but we take a full system view of the problems we solve and collaborate closely with faculty and students from other areas, including applications, software, and hardware.
The field of computer architecture is currently undergoing several disruptive changes. Moore's law continues to bestow a wealth of transistors, but converting them into usable performance will require exploiting increasingly higher levels of parallelism or many-core computing. Designing parallel hardware and software that achieve power-efficient, reliable, and scalable performance, however, remains a challenge. We are currently working on the following projects to address this challenge:

From their site: "Data Planet publishes statistical datasets that are sourced from a wide range of public and private organizations. We call Data Planet an “aggregation” of datasets – a collection of datasets served up together. It’s the same concept as the big journal databases available through your library that bring together journals from different publishers – we do something similar but with statistical datasets as the content."
By visiting Data Planet through the University Library proxy URL, you'll receive access to more datasets.

The depository for all technical reports produced by the College of Engineering. The Center generally defines a technical report as any report that has not been published elsewhere in its entirety. The EDC collection is housed at the lower level of the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center. The collection consists of over 16,000 titles. They comprise primarily of 23 departmental series. The collection includes reports written for governmental and industrial projects, theses written as technical reports, and some reprints of journal articles.

The dashboard interface is a data overview of the environmental system. The dashboard allows for viewing of either the extreme (min / max) sampled values or all the sampled values for a chosen location. Additionally, these sampled values can be shown in either the real-time view, which focuses on conveying real-time data at the expense of historical context, or in the historical view, which provides a much more informative historical context at the expense of limited real-time display. For more information about the dashboard interface, refer to the new user help link.

The goal of this project is to generate actionable intelligence using smart analytics to integrate big-data in the form of omics (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics etc.), clinical data and longitudinal data from electronic health records (EHR). The actionable intelligence is a descriptive piece of information with high-confidence and accuracy that can be used to tailor and individualize diagnosis and therapeutics for a given patient or inform potential candidates for biomarker discovery. The analytics and tools will be developed using engineering expertise at the Univ. of Illinois in close collaboration and partnership with leading clinicians, biologists and bioinformatics specialists at Mayo Clinic. This project will explore societally relevant, prevalent and yet less-understood diseases such as triple-negative breast cancer, major depressive disorder and diabetes.
