FormBuilder

FormBuilder is an enterprise service available to University of Illinois departments for creating forms to collect and process information. FormBuilder's high level functionality includes Event Registration, Online Credit Card Payment, and lightweight Workflow functionality with routing, approvals and email notification. Originally designed and built by ATLAS at UIUC, the application is now jointly supported, maintained, and enhanced by AITS and ATLAS as an enterprise system.

Gartner Research

The Gartner Group is a research and advisory company focused on information technology (IT) technologies, practices, and strategies. It provides analysis to corporate, government, and higher education clients through a variety of media, including the Gartner Research website. This research and analysis can be used throughout the University for planning, decision making, and measurement purposes for making continual process improvements towards industry best practices. The University of Illinois has purchased access to Gartner Research's Core Research, which does not include their Dataquest documents nor special reports. Other information is only available by request to the University's Gartner representative.

IT Consulting Contracts

A request for proposal (KRS102) was initiated to obtain contracts for University-wide use in purchasing as needed temporary information technology personnel and consulting services for a variety of IT applications, systems and services. Contracts were awarded to twenty-eight firms and can be utilized by units from any of the three University of Illinois campuses. These contracts are meant specifically for use in obtaining services from one or more of ten categories of services.

Mobile Development

Mobile Development Services

AITS provides a full suite of development, testing, and deployment services for native mobile applications on the iOS, Android and responsive mobile web platforms. AITS works closely with clients to design and build mobile applications following a combination of agile methodology and industry best practices. The development services include analysis, design, construction, testing, and submission of the app to the iOS App Store and Google Play. AITS can also provide assistance to help organizations troubleshoot technical problems with existing apps or help with development and quality assurance testing of new apps that a department might be building.

All deployments to the iTunes App Store for apps under the University of Illinois name are done by AITS. Several applications were developed as part of grants.

START MyResearch

START (Systemwide Tools for Administration of Research and Training) is the grants management software leveraging open source (Kuali Coeus) as well as University of Illinois developed software. myResearch is the Principal Investigator (PI) portal that will integrate and display information from a number of different university systems, giving faculty access to the information they need to prepare, submit, route, and manage their grants.

Tableau Server Service

Publish and share visualizations of your research.

Tableau is a new addition to the existing University of Illinois BI Analytics toolbox. Tableau Desktop is a visualization tool that provides you with a quick way to analyze, visualize and share information. It is used by advanced users to create and publish data visualization/dashboards and perform advanced data analysis.

Tableau server is an interface that allows you to publish your dashboards to defined user groups or an entire community. To begin publishing following the following steps:

  • Create the dashboard
  • Review the Publisher Information
  • Request a Project for your Dashboard(s)
  • Develop on the test server and server and when ready
  • Contact us to migrate your dashboard to the production server
