Description: Join our team of SBIR experts and the FAST (Federal and State Technology) Center of Illinois for an SBIR/STTR 101 event from 12:00-1:00pm on Tuesday, October 25. This webinar focuses on key elements for successful post-award management that helps to prepare for efficient access to award funds, risk reduction of fines or other legal action, successful project management and tracking, and eligibility for future government funding. Five systems for government award management will be addressed, including: job cost accounting, time tracking system, work tracking and reporting, documented policies & procedures, and contract requirements tracking. Our presenter will be Roland Garton, President & Lead Consultant for Garton Consulting Services and a member of the FAST Center of Illinois consultant team.Roland has over three decades of experience with grant development, government contracting, program and project management, training and documentation, and program administration. Garton has written and advised on scores of SBIR proposals worth several million dollars to 9 of the 11 federal SBIR-granting agencies. He is an SBIR workshop leader and national I-Corps participant, and has managed several projects resulting from successful SBIR proposals. In addition, he has set up bookkeeping and timekeeping systems for many SBIR recipients, prepared invoices and Incurred Cost Proposals, and has helped navigate multiple companies through federal audits, many of them conducted by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
